Who doesn’t want improved soil conditions, or more space, for more colour in their garden?
Border creation does not just have to be a new border in an existing lawn. The possibilities are only limited by the imagination. I can lift a few flag stones in the patio to create a space for a climber to go up the wall, or a feature plant. We can look at the option of planting in the gravelled areas, to break the look of hard standing all around. In some cases, the border could be raised – above a bin store for example – planted out with alpines to further the diversity and range in the garden.
Once borders have been established, or are already established, the growing medium health is as, if not more, important than the individual health of the plants. Many things can affect the health of the soil, density, nutrients, acidity, contents of the sub soil, soil type. All these things will be considered and improved for the needs of your garden.
Furthering on the health of the soil, maintaining what grows in it too is important, you do not want any of the nutrients leech out of the soil by unwanted plants!
