Garden Maintenance

If you choose Rose Above to help you in the garden, we can discuss how to achieve the highest amenity value, for a price that suits your budget. This plan will cover all aspects of garden maintenance, from mowing your lawn to weeding the flower beds.

Each garden will be taken on its own merit, and I will work with you to formulate a quote for what work you want doing. Below is what you can expect to be included in the package.

  • Lawn mowing and maintenance
    • To include all strimming and edging of the lawn
    • Lawn cut to height to suit the garden from 15-53mm with a striped finish
    • Borders will be blown out for any loose debris and collected with the mower
    • Maintenance to include, feeding, scarifying, aerating, overseeding
  • Border maintenance
    • Borders will be weeded
    • Soil turned, edged away from lawn, and conditioned if required.
    • Planting of beds, baskets, and containers (extra cost for the plants)
  • Hedges
    • All hedges cut at the appropriate time of the year, inspected for birds’ nests during nesting seasons
    • Topiary clipped, reshaped, wired if necessary
  • Fruit Trees pruned
    • Correct pruning of fruit trees at the correct time of the year to promote healthy growth based on what you intend to achieve from the tree
    • Year-round care removing epicormic growth, staking, training, netting etc
  • General Maintenance and repair
    • Installing/repairing trellising, training wires
    • Hanging brackets and wall ornaments/wires installed
    • Fence repair – not to include replacement
  • Composting
    • I aim to keep all waste on site, this will be composted on a 2- or 3-year cycle, ready to be put back out onto the borders
  • Spraying (extra cost for the chemicals)
    • Certain circumstances require spraying of the weeds, in gravel and other hard standing
    • May include other herbicide/pesticides. However, I aim to use chemicals in a minimal and highly targeted way. And will always encourage the introduction of natural control before spraying.
  • General advice
    • Keeping an eye on plant health, soil condition, and pests and diseases
    • Advising, and guiding you and your garden to promote a healthier and more prosperous garden

Working together with you, we can build a maintenance package to suit your needs. I aim to deliver a personal service with the highest amenity value, whilst keeping an eye on demands of the property and staying sympathetic to the environment. I aim to keep in line with recommended practices, following the guidance set out by the RHS and other horticultural bodies, participating in seasonal efforts such as “no-mow-may”, and the reduced use of peat in composts.

Let’s meet in your garden and discuss your specific needs and agree a plan that you’re happy with.
